Chat Slangs (Gírias de Bate-papo na Internet) são palavras de uma a quatro letras que foram reduzidas de um palavra inteira como “você” reduzido por “vc”, também é normalmente usadas pelos mais jovens que tem dificuldades de soletrar palavras longas. Embora, o Chat Slang é geralmente mais fácil e mais rápido método de digitação, ele é quase sempre mais difícil para os usuários lerem e isso causa muito aborrecimento para as pessoas que preservam a língua culta.
